Author Guidelines
The preparation and submission of Journal of Contemporary Islamic Law Education and Society (J-CILES) articles must follow a standardized structure to ensure academic rigor, clarity, and consistency across its publications. J-CILES regulated general standard structure and formatting requirements is a minimum length of 5500 words (Bibliography is excluded) and no more than 7000 words. It must be written in English using Garamont font, size 12, with 1.15 line spacing throughout the text.
Title
The title should be concise, specific, and informative, reflecting the essence of the …. It must avoid abbreviations and jargon and typically should not exceed 15 words.
Author Information
Each author’s full name should be listed without academic titles. Institutional affiliations should be clearly stated. The corresponding author’s email address must be provided. Where multiple affiliations exist, superscript numbers should be used to link authors to their respective institutions.
Abstract
The abstract provides a concise summary of the community service project. It includes the background, objectives, methods, key outcomes, and the broader impact on the targeted community or institution. It is written in English, comprising no more than 250 words. Keywords (3 to 5 terms) should be included to facilitate indexing and searchability.
Introduction
The introduction should present the research background and context, highlighting the relevance of the topic within contemporary Islamic law, Islamic education, or Islamic social issues. It should include a concise review of relevant literature to situate the study within existing scholarship, clearly identify the research gap or problem, and explicitly state the research objectives and/or research questions. The introduction must demonstrate the study’s novelty and its contribution to the field.
This section should also cover the methodology used, explaining the research design and approach employed in the study, including qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods. Authors must describe the data sources, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques in sufficient detail to ensure transparency and replicability. Ethical considerations should be addressed where applicable.
Results and Discussion (sub theme)
The results and discussion section should present the main findings of the study clearly and systematically. The discussion should critically analyse the findings by relating them to the theoretical framework and previous studies, highlighting similarities, differences, and new insights. Authors are encouraged to emphasize the theoretical and practical implications of their findings for Islamic law, Islamic education, and Islamic social contexts.
Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the key findings and restate their significance in relation to the research objectives. It should outline the contributions of the study, discuss any limitations, and suggest directions for future research. The conclusion should avoid introducing new data or arguments.
